The front lens is your distance prescription, the second lens at the back is a flexible lens immerse in silicon oil. A slider at the bridge area changes the curvature of this flexible lens, providing a sharp focus at various close up distances. Since the power changes occur to the whole lens, therefore you do not have to hunt for the reading zone like a conventional multifocal lenses.
